Inspired by late 10s Dispatch Rider coats from the First World War and revisited with a unique Italian touch, the “Stelvio” Dispatch Rider Coat represents an authentic garment made of 100% Covert Wool 15 Oz by Vitale Barberis Canonico, the oldest woolen mill in the world (Biella, Italy).
The leather trimmings made with vegetable tanned Lambskin from Tuscany (Italy).
Vitale Barberis Canonico was born in 1663 and located in Biella (Northern Italy), the epicenter of the Italian wool production. With over three centuries of documented history, and a reputation for the highest quality, it represents the Italian Heritage at its best.
The Covert Wool is a worsted batavia weave, of winter weight, clear-cut and compact. This material was primarily used for apparel worn by hunters and riders, created with the specific purpose of withstanding all kinds of weather, mud, and bush-encounters during any good hunt.
A double-breasted front provided an additional layer of protection to the chest, with a storm flap designed to keep water away from the body. The most distinctive feature of the coat, however, remains the slanted chest “Map” pocket used by the dispatch riders to carry messages.
The lining is made of “Espresso Coffee” color 100% warm flannel cotton, and the leather collar-tab closes the neck to keep you warm during winter and cold trips.
The attention to detail makes it a rare and authentic Coat Hand Made in Italy.
Designed for Bikers, Rockers and Gentlemen.
The name “Stelvio” is a tribute to the legendary Mountain Pass in Northern Italy, the best Road of All Time.
