Inspired by the original 1900s Type I jacket and revisited with a unique Italian touch, the “Type I” Black Tea-Core Horsehide Maryam® Leather Jacket represents an authentic garment made of Full Grain Veg Tanned Tea-Core Horsehide by Maryam® from Tuscany (Italy), one the best Tanneries in the world.

This special Tea-Core Horsehide has been developed exclusively for us together with Maryam® Tannery, in limited edition for only 25 jackets worldwide.

Maryam® Tannery was founded in the heart of the tanning district of Santa Croce sull’Arno. Its origins reflect our character, rooted in tradition and respect for the past.

The Type I jacket is a classic piece of American workwear history, originally introduced in the early 1900s, one of the most iconic jacket styles in the world. The Type I was born out of the need for rugged, durable outerwear during a time when denim was used almost exclusively for workwear. It quickly became a favorite among railroad workers, miners, and ranchers due to its toughness and practicality. This jacket represented not just a garment, but a lifestyle of hard work and resilience.

The Full Grain Horsehide Veg Tanned Black Tea-core finish will change color with the wear, developing a unique Patina on the jacket, as a personal journey. The Black Tea-core Leather will begin to reveal the natural color under-layer, showing signs of time when it’s exposed to the elements and daily use, showing awesome scratches and fades in a various shades of golden and brown tone.

Thickness is around 1,2 mm, making the Type I an outstanding and high-end premium jacket. Natural leathers like the Maryam® Horsehide have their own distinctive character and slight differences in texture, grain, scratches and color tone are signs of its authenticity.
